Dude, I really wish I understood the appeal of High School Musical.

The new season of Smallville is wonderful; Lois and Clark moments abound! I've been waiting since, well, season four for this to start and get some steam going. I know, essentially, the Clark and Lana relationship had to resolve first, but it took so very, very long.

House is not very interesting this season, thus far.

I keep missing Bones.

I finally watched the second X-Files movie and it... was... odd.

I need to find a new anime-viewing-partner since I left all mine back in Japan. *weeps*

Is it weird that I don't like the Twilight books, but I can't wait for the movie to come out? I totally want to be in the theatre for that and see how they do 'sparkly vampires' and whether a screen!Edward would tick me off quite so much.

The Chaos;head anime is strangely hilarious. Creepy!Otaku for the win!

I just read Yotsuba and seriously, one of the funniest manga I've read of late. No relationship drama! No angst drama! No four-panel comedy sketches! Just lots of wackiness, and I am so into it right now.

I'm finally catching up with Tsubasa and XXXholic.

Catching up with Inuyasha is something I'm debating right now; can I really go through fifty+ volumes of Inuyasha/Kagome angst again?

Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece are somewhere on that list.

I bought five new yaoi manga volumes yesterday, and I haven't touched them yet. I was perusing the shelves and there sure are a lot of new ones. As in, there are ones I never thought would get translated and published in the US.

I'm really boring today.

That is all.

A LOT of the dates for publishing have been changed; most have been pushed way in the future, if not reverted back to the OH NOES of the publishing industry… T. B. A. 0_0

Most of the books that are TBA or where dates have been changed belong to DramaQueen. It might be an aftereffect of the change of their website. Their website is somewhat out of date at the moment, but it should clear up soon?

And HOLY MOLY! Lots of yaoi manga! Just the stuff that’s been added to this master list since I last updated is staggering. I nearly threw myself at amazon.co.jp to b go buy some of my favorites!. Especially Lovely Sick which I’ve raved about before and I shall rave again. Beautifully drawn, tragic story, warm fuzzy feelings abound. And just enough bondage to keep it spicy. XD Love it to pieces!

BeBeatiful seems to be back on its feet! Yay!

Here’s to hoping for more licenses! And more artists! The selection is still very sliim. This is barely a fraction of a percent of what’s actually available in Japan. A lot of my favorite mangaka aren’t even being represented, which makes me a sad puppy. I’ve noticed the trend in more explicit manga and less plot-based or character-driven manga. =( Not necessarily bad, but some of my absolute favorites are in the latter categories. Mou~

DISCLAIMER: Unreleased manga dates are rough or predicted. I take no responsibility if releases are abruptly changed. =P Also, if there are any broken or misdirected links, yaoi-related news that I might have missed, information that may be wrong, please tell me!

It is what it says. =) So far, decent selection; they say they're going to be the one-stop shopping central, so that might just be the best place to keep up with what's available and whatnot. I'll keep putting out my list since I'm stubborn like that, but I can't wait to comb over the list to select things to buy!

News

Casino Lily by Youka Nitta has been licensed by Be Beautiful!

Five months since my last update and whoo boy, there's sure a lot of love in the air. =) Everyone's getting manga, left and right and it's to the point where there's several new releases every month until December. And who knows what'll be licensed by then. I'm extremely pleased by some of the new licenses such as Gerard and Jacques, Junjyo Romantica, and The Tyrant Falls in Love since all three are particular favorites of mine. Another gleeful addition is Close the Last Door, which I absolutely adore, and Hybrid Child, which is one of those stories that stays with you. Also, ♥ for Time Lag

As most of you probably know, Digital Manga Publishing has created a new line called June that will deal exclusively with their yaoi and shonen-ai titles. This is awesome, since I love DMP with an unholy passion. They've got the biggest selection, though BLU and Be Beautiful might possibly trump their coups in terms of famous mangaka. Though I've got to say...Be Beautiful is a particularly slow publisher. But they've got Shiuko Kano and Kazuma Kodaka so there it is.

Also, since my last update, a significant event has occurred. On April 4, 2006, BIBLOS, the largest distributor and publisher of yaoi and shonen-ai related material, filed for bankruptcy. While it doesn't seem to have affected the American releases, several ongoing series will probably come to a standstill as BIBLOS is divided and sold to various companies. Keep this in mind for future releases.

One notable thing; there are three yaoi PC games translated and available in the states! Check it out at the bottom! I've played one of them before in Japanese and it was odd, if mostly okay.

Updated the links, release dates, and cleaned up the way it was organized. From now on, instead of automatically integrating the new links into the list, anything new added will be put in a special section on top and at the next update, I'll phase them in, replacing it with a brand new list of new licenses and releases. The only exceptions will be novels, games, and artbooks since they have their own special little space down at the bottom.

What do you think? What should I review? There's a lot of manga on the list. I've read the majority of it already, either in English or in another translation (even occasionally in Japanese though I miss most of the nuances). There are a few I'm going to review since I either a) love it to death, or b) have the licensed manga… or both. =) Suggestions?

Some of you might have already heard of this, but Biblos has abruptly announced their bankruptcy

They're ceasing all operations, effective immediately so any series currently going through this particular publisher is no longer going to be published. Which means if there's a series someone is following... they're tough out of luck. One interesting thing is that Biblos also releases the monthly BeBoy magazine, which is one of the most well-known yaoi monthlies. What's interesting about it is that they announced it so suddenly and are essentially pulling up their oars from under the artist's feet.

... I wonder how this will affect the artists currently represented by Biblos?

Taiwan was so much fun that I almost regret being back to the daily mechanics of reality. Almost.

But then not because the next chapter of Furuba is coming out in a few days! Woot!

I picked up more manga than I planned, but I don't regret it for a moment because whee, I have so much to read now. I got several new shoujo series and the continuation of some shonen series. I also managed to find new volumes of yaoi manga, all gorgeous and tight asses. Wow. I never thought I'd say that. ;) But truly, I found a couple new artists I really like, and Moon Bleu (the company that licenses some of the best of the best in yaoi manga in Taiwan) has increased their collection by quite a bit. It was gorgeous and I had a moment of nirvana, I swear.

Food? Well. Like Korea, I ate my way through Taiwan in what would probably be a startling fashion to anyone but those who know me.

But yeah. The biggest thing? Manga. Manga. And more manga. I also picked up the first volume of the Kyou Kara Maoh novels and will start reading soon.

Mm. Yaoi...

WOOT!

Yaoi manga fans, get ready to cheer!

Minase Masara and Takanaga Hinako are scheduled to debut in the US!

Minase Masara penned and drew one of my favourite single-volume stories of all time, "Empty Heart". It's US title is apparently going to be "Lies and Kisses", but who cares? It's coming, it's coming, and yes, it's coming. (no pun intended. really) And Takanaga Hinako has some of the best facial expressions in my opinion. Her characters are so sweet and airy and my favourite series by her is "Little Butterfly". But "Challengers" is also excellent.

=)

*crickets*

Well, I'm ready to cheer.

Both the Media Blasters and Digital Manga Publishing sites are under construction or down. Good luck getting in. -_-;;

Here's a good article about yuri anime and manga.
AfterEllen.com Profiles "Yuri" Manga and Anime.

Welcome to
Drama Queen and GoComi! Both are entering strong shoujo and yaoi titles into the market.

I removed Gamerz Heaven from the list because while it had a possible shonen-ai relationship, the focus was purely on a parody of the RPG genre. I've basically removed all titles that were more on the side of hinting; the exceptions are Descendents of Darkness, Tokyo Babylon, and Banana Fish... I'm still waffling on those three.

Other than that, a pretty slow few months. It's good to remember that yaoi titles have a tendency of being delayed even if they're backed by a steady company. Unreleased manga dates are rough or predicted. I take no responsibility if releases are abruptly changed. =P

The list has been considerably refurbished and updated, though sadly, aside from licensing news and others, there's been precious few volumes of yaoi manga actually released. Financial difficulties abound.

Note: several publishing dates have been changed. Many titles have been pushed back or released later than anticipated. The dates of the unreleased manga is still very much up in the air, so don't kill me if it's distributed later than you thought it would be. Please?

Antique Bakery and why you should buy it )

This is an update of this list.

Warnings: This list contains manga that is explicit in slash, yaoi, bl, whatever one wants to call it. There's lots of boyonboy action, so if that's not your cup of tea, refrain from clicking on my pretty lj-cut. Flaming, ranting, and promises of hell will be laughed at.

Tokyopop confirms that they will distribute (but not publish, adapt, translate, license, or basically have anything to do with it until the dough starts rolling in) Blu Label, a line that will be exclusively yaoi manga. Acquisitions include Earthian, Love Mode, and Shinobu Kokoro: Hidden Heart. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] aka_anonymous for the tip.

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] jairigami! Gravitation is ending at V.12 and will be released 12 July 2005! *boggles* I always thought it went up to V.18 or something... but then again, there was that wide gap of six years where I didn't pay much attention... -_-;;

I used to love doing reviews. Where did it all go?

Timesuck.

I'm attempting to write my last story for my creative writing class. It's about aliens, Kenya, and losing their virginity. I'm so dead.

Anyhoo - XDXDXD!!!!!

This is the side-story to that yaoi manga I was talking about when I got back from Shanghai. >_<

Rapunzel by Shiho Sugiuru is one of the sweetest shonen-ai stories I've ever read. The artwork is a little sharp around the edges, and it seems a bit like a doujinshi at times, but honestly; this story is the sort that makes me melt into a puddle. This is the sort of story that should be put into the annals of love stories, be it het OR slash. This is a love story (with a lovely added bonus that it's shonen ai ~_^) and everything about it... egad, it angsts. Oh, it angsts.

There's nothing very hardcore, but I think that's beyond the point for this story. You just want them to kiss one time, and you'll be brimming with happiness, trust me. XDXD

I've found my calling. Anime is something I adore and can't live without, but there is nothing like holding a manga in your hand and reading it from cover to cover and crying over the luscious art and yummy images. *dies**revives* Alright, that's enough out of me. If you're into slash, you will love this. If you're into a good love story, you will love this. If you... um... oh, just read it! *happy* Brings me back memories of the first time I read a yaoi story...

Some of you are manga fans, I know it, so try it out. The translation's a little iffy at times, and there's grammar mistakes, but really, the fact that this girl took the time to do it is enough for me.
