demeter918: blue doraemon cat (Demeter - spinshadow - TOSHI!)
I've discovered that the best way to argue is just to stay calm and rational. =)

That said, I have got to stop going into the bookstores. Yesterday, I went in expecting to buy Newtype and Animage and I came out with the Japanese edition of Crimson Hero (6 volumes), three continuing volumes of this yaoi series I love and follow, a idols magazine (OMG, where I did I go wrong?), and Bleach 18.

Madness, it's madness.

Found a couple of really nice ones to send stateside; I'll pick them up today. I have to find a box though... it seems there's a bit of a difficulty in finding smaller boxes.

By the way: SPEED GRAPHER is love! I've wanted to rave for the longest time, but yeah, this is a series I know a bunch of you will absolutely adore. It's available via BT at Shinsen Subs. It's been licensed, so if you like it, buy the DVDs when they come out. The series is that good.

The list has been considerably refurbished and updated, though sadly, aside from licensing news and others, there's been precious few volumes of yaoi manga actually released. Financial difficulties abound.

Note: several publishing dates have been changed. Many titles have been pushed back or released later than anticipated. The dates of the unreleased manga is still very much up in the air, so don't kill me if it's distributed later than you thought it would be. Please?

Antique Bakery and why you should buy it )

This is an update of this list.

Warnings: This list contains manga that is explicit in slash, yaoi, bl, whatever one wants to call it. There's lots of boyonboy action, so if that's not your cup of tea, refrain from clicking on my pretty lj-cut. Flaming, ranting, and promises of hell will be laughed at.

News

Tokyopop confirms that they will distribute (but not publish, adapt, translate, license, or basically have anything to do with it until the dough starts rolling in) Blu Label, a line that will be exclusively yaoi manga. Acquisitions include Earthian, Love Mode, and Shinobu Kokoro: Hidden Heart. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] aka_anonymous for the tip.

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] jairigami! Gravitation is ending at V.12 and will be released 12 July 2005! *boggles* I always thought it went up to V.18 or something... but then again, there was that wide gap of six years where I didn't pay much attention... -_-;;

Yaoi Manga currently available or lined up to be released )

Once again, if there are any mistakes or anything I might have missed, give me a heads up.

This really should not make me as happy as it does, but Naoki Urasawa is on the list of top ten most taxed mangaka in Japan! Read the 'happy' news here!"

Really, this makes me... um, I guess it amuses me? *laugh*

Masashi Kishimoto and Rumiko Takahashi are on it too.

See? It's not just ninjas and cat ears that can make lots of money. =)

Recent manga acquisitions.

No Furuba 17, unfortunately. ;_; Will check again before this weekend. I'm also waiting for the second volume of Petshop of Horrors II

Let's see...

Death Note 6
Skip Beat 9
Prince of Tennis 28 (or was that 29?)
Kaguya-Hime 28 (I think. And it's the end)
Aishiteruze Baby 6
Naruto 28 (again, I think. It's the newest one anyways)
Air Gear 5-8
20th Century Boys 18
Please Save My Earth 11 (they're re-releasing it, yay!)
HunterXHunter 21
Kare Kano 20
HanaKimi 23 (the ending; damn, I can never remember the exact numbers)

Some other things, mostly random shoujo manga that had interesting covers/plot descriptions. I've been thinking about getting caught up again with Get Backers, but I stopped around 16, and it's up to 28 now... not sure whether I want to sink money back into that. I mean, hell, my favourite character is Akabane, the smiling rampaging murderer. It's a little sad. But I've seen scans and the art is just absolutely gorgeous and detailed and I feel like it'll be a crime if I don't look it up again.

I also snagged the Matsumoto Temari artbook. I love her art so much; some of you know her as the artist of the inserts in the Kyou Kara Maou novels. In a related note, I picked up one of the latest Asuka weeklies, and it seems like the artist has finally started the manga version of KKM. Since it's in Asuka instead of, say, BeBoy, I'm assuming that it's going to hedge the line of shonen-ai and platonic love and give happy fangirls something new to squeal at. Either or, it's beautifully drawn. I'll try to scan if I can clear off my stupid desk.

Now for the reactions:

Naruto, Death Note, HanaKimi )

Prince of Tennis and the cuteness that is SAKUNO! )

Kaguya-Hime and the ending that sucked beyond all endings )

Kare Kano, HunterxHunter )

I haven't gotten around to reading Air Gear and 20th Century Boys, but I'll hit them tonight and see what's new for my lovely Agito/Akito and Kenji... who is... )

Whew.

That's the end of my gabbing today.
