EDIT: For some reason, I was thinking [livejournal.com profile] cheloya and then I typed [livejournal.com profile] tokoyami 0_0 Yeah, I have no idea. So HUGE apologies to the two for that! [livejournal.com profile] cheloya was the kindly goddess who helped me on the stroke function.

Yay! Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] cheloya and [livejournal.com profile] flamika, I've learned the 'stroke' function. AND IT WORKS. *is in awe*

So three new icons! (though one of them doesn't employ the function)

2 - Naruto (Sakura)
1 - Angel Sanctuary (Yue)

Sakura - Always Smiling

Sakura - Kakashi Petting

Angel Sanctuary - The End is Close

More Questions:

1. How do I make text vertical so it's not just sideways?
2. Is animated icons a huge pain to make? I have some vague ideas regarding that.
3. Like *cough* this icon? The one where just the middle is animated? That looks a leetle bit beyond me.
4. Different fonts? I'm getting tired of my old ones.
5. Where can I download brushes?
6. I love you all =)

1. Edit >> Transform - From that list, there are options to Rotate, Scale, Scew, etc. Below that there should be opitions to Rotate 90 degrees CCW, Rotate 90 degrees CW, and Rotate 180 degrees. Go to town. ^_^

2, 3. My animated icons are wholly inferior. >.< I alwasy hear the name Animation Shop dropped where good animated icons are mentioned, though. But I believe AS is capable of making icons like the one you're using.

4. http://www.dafont.com

5. [livejournal.com profile] 100x100brushes

6. I love you too!

Oh yeah... the rotate function. *feels rather stupid* As you can tell, I really am an icon beginner.

The 100x100brushes user doesn't exist - did s/he kill the journal?

2 - Animated icons can be a pain in the arse, but it depends on what you're trying to do with them. Animation Shop is heavenly, as it'll accept input from AVIs, though if you want to do that, I'd recommend having VirtualDub as well so you know the frame range (plus VirtualDub makes screencapping easy). AS came bundled with PSP 7, so if you wanted it, I could...arrange for you to acquire it?

3 - Mini-movie icons don't have to be insanely difficult . . . but to make one like that you'll need to know how to make and use masks. Those with more regular-shaped screen sections are easier.

Hm... so it looks like that before I make animated icons, I should probably get used to 6.0 and then when I upgrade to 7 or 8, then I can seriously start making - or trying anyways - animated ones. This is a good idea. Shouldn't try to immediately head for the deep end of the pool when I just started. -_-

XD I'd love to learn how to make that one, but I'm guessing I need a wee more knowledge than I have now.
