Fruits Basket love!
I finally got my hands on Volume 14 of Fruits Basket. *cuddles* Lots of things going on, lots of things still not revealed, and more Akito, which pleased me immensely.
The first front page, with a sketch, was the biggest love of mine. >_< Akito was sleeping, piled with blankets and the gorgeous Kureno (the rooster) was lying next to him. The kanji next to him said 'sleeping with', though that's not exactly what it means to me. I can't quite translate it, because there's no equivalent in English that really works well... hm. I suppose I could use a long sentence to describe it. So Kureno is literally accompanying Akito in sleep, while he lays awake next to him, watching carefully. It could be said that Akito cannot sleep without one of his Juunishi (or Kureno specifically) next to him. Let's just say I nearly died when I saw it. I shall scan it eventually (along with several others, because I've discovered some new things in past volumes) to glorify Akito!
This was definitely a volume of Rin-lovers. We see her past, what really happened between her and Akito, her and Haru, and her and Shigure.
This was also a Yuki volume. Sort of. I don't think Yuki/Tohru lovers will like this volume very much, because I'm guessing that the manga is finally leaning toward Tohru/Kyo. Why? Because at the end, Yuki admits that he's looking for 'mother' off of Tohru. If only to himself. Also, when Rin asks Tohru why she's trying to break the curse, Tohru couldn't say, but we saw a picture of Akito. So I don't know. I have to scan that for people to help me anaylze.
Another thing. Those who have conjectured that perhaps Akito has something specificaly against women might be right. Twice he comments on how he 'hates women' and how 'women are so sneaky and vile'. This definitely points to something. Most likely? His mother. I don't know. Hm.
Shigure fucking loves Akito. When Rin asks him whether he knew how to break the curse, and she says that he must know because he's so close to Akito and that he's Akito's [trusted confidante], there's this cold glint to his eyes that wonders at why she would think he was Akito's... [trusted confidante]. And if he was, why would he say anything that would cause harm to Akito?

So, I'm scanning some images now. And translating them. And there are specific reasons for scanning the ones I scan. ^_^

But on the Akito and Tohru subject... for some reason, the only Souma male that I truly like to pair Tohru with is Akito. Dunno why. O_o

Tohru, for me, is completely asexual. She's like this angel-like figure that comes into the Sohma family's life and she'll stay there, beloved and worshipped. So she actually doesn't work with any one for me.
As for Akito... >_< Shigure all the way baby!
